Delete your account and data

In the app

This is the fastest route, and it needs nothing from us.

• If you are signed in: open Profile and choose Delete Account.
• If you are playing as a guest: open Profile and choose Delete guest data.

By email

If you cannot get into the app, email support@dobudex.com from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete your account. We will erase it without undue delay. Use the same address to ask us to erase a deleted account immediately rather than waiting out the 30-day window below.

What is deleted

Your profile, your scans, the photos you took, the creatures generated from them, any locations stored with a scan, and your friends and social data (connections, invite codes, blocks you placed, and reports involving you). Your account is removed from our systems.

When it happens

• Guest data is deleted immediately and cannot be restored, because a guest session cannot be recovered once you sign out of it.
• A signed-in account gets a 30-day window. Access ends straight away: you are signed out, the account can no longer be used, and you disappear from the leaderboard and from other people's friends lists. The data is then permanently erased after 30 days, automatically. The window exists so an accidental deletion is not irreversible, and you can skip it by emailing us.
• To change your mind, sign in again within those 30 days. The latest version of the app shows the date your account is due to be erased and offers to restore it; on older versions, email support@dobudex.com within the window and we will restore it for you. Some things do not come back: your friends and social connections, your invite codes, and your leaderboard opt-in. Blocks that other people placed on you are kept.

What we keep, and for how long

• Encrypted backups, for disaster recovery only. Your data is removed from our live systems at the point of erasure, and any residual copies in backups expire automatically within 30 days of our next daily backup run. If we ever restore to recover from data loss, we re-apply pending deletions so that data you asked us to erase is not brought back.
• A one-way hashed identifier derived from your sign-in (not your email or name), kept for up to about 90 days for abuse and fraud prevention, then removed.
• Minimized, de-identified operational logs with no photos and no usernames.

One thing deletion does not do

Deleting your account does not cancel a dobudex Explorer subscription. Subscriptions are billed by the store you bought from and are cancelled through that store's subscription settings: App Store account settings on iOS, or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions on Android. Cancel there as well if you no longer want to be charged.
